How big the affected area is
A patch under one sink and a whole wall behind a shower are different jobs. The estimate follows the moisture readings, not just the stain you can see.
Ask how the edge of the wet area was measured.
What the mold is growing on
Tile, concrete block and framing can usually be cleaned in place. Drywall, insulation, carpet and cabinet floors usually come out and are replaced.
Ask which materials are cleaned and which are removed, and who replaces them.
Whether the moisture is fixed
A leak, a sweating duct or a clogged AC drain line has to be dealt with before cleanup. That can mean a plumber or an AC technician first.
A quote that ignores the source is a quote for coming back.
Sealing off the work area
Plastic barriers, filtered air machines and protective gear take time and materials. They keep spores out of the rest of the house.
Ask what containment is included and how the room is cleaned afterward.
Drying and the final check
Drying equipment runs for days. A good estimate says how long and how you will know it worked.
Ask whether a final moisture reading is part of the price.
